Awoke to a misty, sea-fog shrouded day – absolutely perfect for indoor exploring – so off to the George Dorr Natural History Museum we went!

A striking place, with wildlife dioramas designed & created by the students of The College of the Atlantic.

They have stuffed bobcats, minks, birds, & a wide variety of other creatures. Even a bear cub stealing honey from a wild hive in a tree!

There are skeletons of whales hanging from the ceiling. An observation beehive! A touch tank with starfish, snails, hermit crabs & other little critters! But the amazing dioramas are what truly make this museum spectacular!

Since it hadn’t started raining yet we wandered over to The Wild Gardens of Acadia! Truly a wonderful series of gardens, with plants native to Acadia labeled!

Here we found out the names for a three of the mosses we encounter on our Schoodic walks!

We’re back in our Maine Mansion with da boyz, fire in fireplace, as a gentle rain falls.
