Started the day the Werz family traditional way by fortifying the elves with fried ham, bacon, southwestern hash browns and sunnyside up eggs with biscuits! Then broke out the bloody marys & trimmed the tree! Once completed we had champagne toasts, fully loaded chili, and deviled eggs watching college football! Practically perfect day in every way!

This is the 34th year with Cousin Larry trimming the Werz family tree! The first year was 1989. Daddy had died in March, Cousin Larry called mom & told her there was no way that I could cut the base off the tree, mount it in its stand and carry it into the house on my own. He came over to trim the tree every year til mom passed in 2013, & has come to our house to trim the tree ever since! (Except 2020 – the pandemic isolation year – he joined us over zoom from his living room that year) Tradition!!!

With the Christmas tree trimming elves & the little woof in his Santa suit! Another holly daze season has officially launched! Merry Merry! Joy Joy!!!
