We took Tom & Merry to the Temple at their dear friends Jane & Jims home. A wonderfully radiant, powerful, evocative, holy site. A rainforest glade surrounds it, tucked inside an ancient grove. My heart felt full & immensely peaceful.

We shared stories of Merry & Tom, ultimately I feel comforted that their spirits are free in the places that mattered most to them – with their friends at the Temple, ocean, rivers, mountains, and their childhood lake in the UP with Tom’s brother & sister in law, Wally & Joyce. They both remain alive in the hearts and memories of all who loved them. They are in the summerlands together. Many many thanks to Jane & Jim. 🫶💕💙💕

The next morning we walked the boyz over to the beach from the Twa’noh state park. There were so many lavendar and purple shells on the pebbled beach! Merrys place, clearly. As we gazed out at the Hood canal a seal popped up, returning our gaze!

We headed over to Snoqualmie Falls. The parking lots were packed, the overlooks overflowing when Chris (with a twinkle in his eyes so reminiscent of his dad!) told me to slip my hand in his pocket… We discretely sprinkled the ashes into the ferns & daisies at the overlooks – giving Eeyore & Tigger front row seats to the glorious waterfalls!

Final stop on the Tigger and Eeyore tour was Snoqualmie Peak with fine views of the Cascades surrounding them. In classic Seattle style the weather was cool, with misty drizzling rain so Tom & Merry will feel right at home!

After we got home I took the shells I gathered at the Oregon coast, and those from Twa-noh state park and created this wreath in her honor. It hangs in my little office near her drums & tamborine!

This was beautiful, Marianne. The photos and poems reminded me so much of Merry. I miss her, especially the “her” before dementia stole her away. She was so kind to me. I think she recognized a kindred spirit, and I was grateful for her friendship.

Merry (before alzheimers) lived up to her name! She was a force of nature, full of life & laughter & warm bear hugs. I believe she saw kindred spirits in both you & me!
