Turkey Day!

I sent Charlie this photo of da boyz after they went to the groomers and he responded with a very punny take on the holiday classic “Home for the Holidays”…!

“There’s no place like hounds for the holidays…” 🤣

Oh, there’s no place like home for the holidays
‘Cause no matter how far away you roam
When you pine for the sunshine of a friendly gaze
For the holidays, you can’t beat home, sweet home!

There’s no place like home UNLESS it’s our home sweet home on wheels, that is!

We’re camping at Newport News again this year for Turkey Day! Cousin Larry came over Wednesday for lunch at Pierce’s Pitt – THE best BBQ ever & amazing onion rings! When we got back I walked over to the camp store to score this adorable flag & flagpole for the new camper!

A flag for the new camper!

Chris & I sat outside reading til sunset, enjoying the mild temps and lake views!

Turkey day itself dawned brrrrrrright and cold! “Warming” up to almost 54 then plunging below freezing again for the Newport News Celebration of Lights drive with BA & Robbie!

Met up with BA and Rob again on Friday to wander about Williamsburg!

Believe it or not it was even colder today with a biting breeze! We needed to warm up so – First stop – lunch!

After dining we strolled the streets admiring the wreaths and holiday decorations! Fortunately BA supplied everyone with handwarmers for their pockets!

Tree of Life!

A lovely afternoon was had by all then it was time to return to camp and walk the pupsters! Here’s the most amusing find amongst the wreaths – a tiny acorn mouse timidly peeking out below the mossy lotus and pyracantha berries!
