Maine!

The view leaving the Cape Ann campground this morning

Today we scored SIX lighthouses! We’re camping at the Wild Duck Adult RV park in Scarborough Maine which means another new state on our map as well!

The scenery is exquisite in these small waterfront towns! Unfortunately so is the traffic, their popularity makes driving a bit of a nightmare! Our dualing GPS’s took us on an in depth tour of the Maine coast before finally bringing us to Fort McClary park to view Whaleback light. Where we were surprised to also see Constitution light! AND as an added bonus – Wood Island & White Island Lights!!

We then headed to visit the Cape Neddick lighthouse or “the Nubble” as it is affectionately called!

The Nubble

Getting there was a straight shot but I literally had to hop out of the truck as Chris drove by in order to get the stamp in my latest Lighthouse Passport (!). It was so busy that therewas NO parking, so Chris looped around a second time so I could see it!

However, bonus! There was another light we saw as we were driving up and the gift shop stamped it – The Boon Island Lighthouse – in my passport as well!

Best not to talk about the debacle of getting to our latest campsite… Let’s just say – alls well that ends well!

the view from our camper tonight!
