Montana Memories

Today we’re taking a trip down memory lane, revisiting Chris’s childhood stomping grounds in Montana! Back in the day his parents had bought 160 acres in Trout Creek Montana, on the side of Green Mountain to homestead.

We drove from Coeur d’Alene Idaho taking route 200 past the site of the old Bull Run campground where they lived briefly (Chris caught his first fish in the Bull Run river!).

We followed the Clark Fork river and turned onto Swamp Creek road, still gravel even after all these years!

Several miles later we turned left onto Green Mountain road where Chris recognized the old Hill place – their neighbors!

We turned around at the other neighbors tree farm, and drove back slowly past Tom & Merrys place. Gorgeous vistas. Can totally understand why they fell in love with Montana!

We’re boondocking tonight at Thompson Falls State Park. A far cry from the overpriced RV parking lots we’ve been in recently!

Turn around and looking away from the camper!

Tomorrow we move on to Bozeman and Tuesday we’ve scored an RV site (full hookups) at Fishing Bridge inside Yellowstone National Park!!! Life is Good!
