April Updates!

The biggest update is that Chris retired on Friday April 18th! The day after NRAO (the National Radio Astronomy Organization) feted him for his ten years with the observatory! Let the good times roll, literally, as our home on wheels takes us South to Florida, West to Oregon and North East to Mass, New York, Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont! Yay retirement!!!

The jungle has moved outdoors for the season, just in time for the great room to get its amazing makeover! We’ve taken Chris’s pedal kayak outside as well. It’s now tucked beside the bikehouse inside the fence of the old beeyard!

We started my Bionic Eye journey April 10th when my first cataract surgery took place. Absolutely Amazing! I have never had such crisp clear vision! We also started the great room “recovery” effort… Juan, Miguel, & Rosie sanded the oak floor, stained, and polyed it!

Additionally I editted out furniture to open up and declutter the space! The dresser between our chairs will be replaced by daddys bar! We also gave away Jakies old crate that hid between the bar and counter, so we will have two bar stool seats at the counter instead! The space where the antique “hat box” was by the powder room will now have the Werz family marbletop table! So it will no longer obscure the view out the sliding glass doors! We got rid of the old painted coffee table as well. Now the benches for Treebeard (our dining room table) will be placed along the wall under the windows. A total refresh!

Remember Nancy gave me watercolors over the holly days? I bought this book and here’s my first project! It was a lesson on washes, layering and blending. End result? I painted an almost respectable acorn! Clearly I am easily impressed… 😊
