is breá liom Éire!

I love Ireland! To avoid panic over politics (& keep my sanity) I have been learning Gaeilge and touring Irish properties for sale on the internet every day (gach la!). I’ve had lovely dreams of moving to an talamh de mhíle shades glas! (the land of 1000 shades of green)

Is breá liom a bheith ag foghlaim na Gaeilge. Tá an Ghaeilge draíochtúil agus álainn. Is maith liom beoir, stéig, agus bagún. Glasraí freisin. Tá dhá mhadra gleoite, milis & greannmhar againn – Rex & Rick!

Tá sé ag cur báistí mar gheall ar spéirling Helene. Inné agus mé ag tiomáint abhaile bhí trí bhóthar dúnta in Batesville mar gheall ar dhamáiste stoirme.

(I love learning Irish. The Irish language is magical and beautiful. I like beer, steak, and bacon. Vegetables also. We have two cute, sweet & funny dogs – Rex & Rick!

It is raining because of hurricane Helene. Yesterday as I was driving home there were three roads closed in Batesville due to storm damage.)

Sadly Ireland, Canada, & most of Europe have absolutely zero interest in letting retirees from America move in. Germany would refuse us even tho my grandfather (Captain Charlie Werz) came from there. It seems a grandparent who emigrated in 1870 is too far back for me to qualify… But I can still dream, & still ‘window shop’ for cute cottages!

Speaking of dreamy escapes, we mere muggles happened upon pure magic today!

Shiúil muid ar an deireadh seachtaine mischief Harry Potter agus draíochta i Staunton nuair a chuaigh muid go dtí Blackfriars chun féachaint ar Macbeth “!

We stumbled upon the Harry Potter mischief and magic weekend in Staunton when we went to Blackfriars to watch Macbeth”!

An oiread sin draoithe agus cailleacha ag fánaíocht ar na sráideanna! an oiread sin spraoi!

So many wizards and witches wandering the streets! so much fun!
