Cones of Shame…

Poor little floofs are miserable right now. They got snipped this morning. Wearing their cones of shame to stop them from irritating the site by licking it. Hopefully they’ll start to feel better in the morning!

Tonight one floof will sleep in the guest room with me, the other will sleep downstairs with Chris. We’ve set up an enclosure around my chair. Rick is currently asleep in my chair. Rex is fussy and has finally laid down at my feet outside the enclosure. Hopefully he’ll fall asleep!

While they were at the vets I did a massive weeding & pruning in the secret garden! It looks so much better now. All the volunteer evening primrose has been removed, and the miniature butterfly bush pruned to give the rose bush more sunlight.

This is the first year that I’ve ever seen my stargazer lilies & daylilies bloom – usually deer or bunnies nip them off.

The plants in the pond are over twice as tall this year too… I may clear a lot of them out next as they are so dense that you can’t see water at all.

The oakleaf hydrangea in all its glory!

Speaking of floofs – our camel colored leather sofa is deeply scratched & permanently dirt stained. Absolutely nothing I have tried has helped. So today when I saw this whimsical washable slip cover I thought – why not? Let’s give it a try. It will arrive next week!

Love it!
