We started by joining friends Chris & Jen at the Albemarle County Fair! It is much smaller than in previous years but lots of fun seeing all the 4H exhibits!

The Sunday we headed out to Richmond on a (sadly failed) attempt to score another lighthouse. Then we popped over to Diamond Stadium to watch the Richmond Flying Squirrels take on the Portland Sea Dogs! Minor league baseball at its finest! Christopher was thrilled to be able to present me with my first ever corndog, pretty tasty actually!

Such a total hoot! There were contests with fans dressed as all manner of nut & acorn (the Flying Squirrels mascot is named Nutsy after all) racing each other; a child was given the choice between letting his dad take home a pie OR popping dad in the face WITH the pie (he chose the latter); a pink flamingo flinging free hotdogs into the stands; a cannon shooting free t-shirts!

And baseball, which required your attention as over a half dozen balls got popped up into the stands by errant batters! All in all just tons of fun!

Oh, and we got 22 states on Sunday as well!
